Cheers Youth Centre

About Us

Cheers Youth Centre was founded in 1991 with the aim of doing something positive in response to the large numbers of young people gathering in Ballymoney and becoming involved in anti-social behaviour. Cheers is a safe, alcohol-free environment where young people aged 12-20 can socialise in various activities designed to address their physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs.

Here, at Cheers, we run a variety of courses, ranging from Young People and Law & Order to Peer Leadership Training. You can find out about the different courses over at the courses page.

We work inpartnership with the following organisations to deliver quality youth education programmes and services in the Ballymoney area:

    * Various local Churches
    * CRUN (Causeway Rural and Urban Network)
    * NEELB Youth Service
    * Ballymoney Community Safety Partnership
    * Northern Ireland Youth Justice Agency
    * Police Service of Northern Ireland
    * Ballymoney Borough Council

We work in partnership with:

The Youth Justice Agency to implement youth conference program for young offenders which includes providing community service and conference meetings at our premises.

Ballymoney Community Safety Partnership to address anti-social behaviour among young people in our borough.

We also work closely with the Youth Service to provide training courses, physical activities and programmes for young people which seek to facilitate their personal, social & educational development.
